It’s late, and I’m tired as I write this. I won’t have time to do it tomorrow, as I’ll be heading south to Houston after breakfast. So here I sit at my desk, yawns escaping me at intervals while I try to type out something worth a second glance in your inbox.
Really though, I suppose I needn’t fuss over it. If this little Substack isn’t simply for the fun of writing and sharing some photos here and there, then likely it will turn too serious and become something of a digital pulpit, and God knows I don’t need to be in that position.
Maybe you too need the reminder to have a bit of fun, and not take yourself too seriously. Take a moment to get out of your own head and look around, and consider the vastness of what it outside yourself. Maybe drive somewhere you haven’t been, and give thanks for how large — and at the same time very small — the world really is. I’m going to try doing that this weekend, with friends, as adventure is best found in company.
For now, goodnight, dear reader.
